How We Met
Tyler's POV
As most know, it all started with a swipe. After some time of conversation, she boldly came over for dinner. Bold, because at night, my home appears to be deep in the woods. What she didn’t know was that I had to buy pots, pans, and other kitchen essentials to cook her the first meal I had made in my new place.
She had a strong, confident, and sexy way about her as I observed her while trying not to mess up the simplest of meals: Chicken Quesadillas. After she ate half her plate, I proceeded to throw it away, not knowing she wanted to save it for later. Since she lived an hour away, it made sense to let her stay the night. Keeping it cordial and with no funny business, we went to sleep.
Waking up the next morning, I removed myself from Tinder, believing my search was over. My belief and sense of knowing continue to grow to this day, but that morning, when she used the spiral staircase as a slide, solidified my decision.
She’s beautiful, intelligent, goofy, funny, and unapologetically herself. I will love her forever for that.
Kelli's POV
Tyler & I met in a totally modern, 21st century type of way - on a social media app. I was fresh out of a 2 year relationship that ended during the peak of Covid in 2020. I took to Tinder and luckily found Tyler in October, we began chatting daily, and soon after, we had our first date. It was at his place, where he cooked me dinner and we began to watch a movie. Unfortunately I was coming over after a long work shift following a long 1-hour drive to get to him so of course I fell asleep. (Ladies, I know, I know!) Thankfully Tyler is a complete gentleman & treated me with respect the entire night. The next morning, I woke up to Tyler deleting his Tinder as a way to tell me that he was ready to be exclusive and an embarrassing slip-n-slide tumble from me down his spiral staircase. I’m sure he would say that this was the moment he knew that I was the one! For the next few months I got to see how kind, respectful, honest, mature, caring & manly he is - all the great internal qualities, handsomeness being the given. We became officially a couple in December of 2020 and the rest is history.
The Proposal
Tyler's POV
About a month before the proposal, as I was getting to work one morning, I realized it was time to propose. I knew what she wanted, so I casually brought up rings to get her to tell me her size. Within a week of purchasing her ring, she just happened to go ring shopping and talked to the same salesman who sold me the ring. I was a little nervous but knew there was no way she could know what I had done.
We had already planned to go to Lake Tahoe for a OneWheel race, and I knew it would be the perfect place to propose. When we got to the park at Lake Tahoe, it was hard to contain my nerves, but I played it cool, and she didn’t suspect a thing. Hopping over rocks and getting some distance from her gave me enough time to set up the camera and quickly find the right spot to drop to one knee. It was a surreal moment as I knelt down and gave her a big smile. “Will you marry me?”
My nerves were filled with love, and the strength of our bond grew even more. Needless to say, our trip to Lake Tahoe was amazing!
Kelli's POV
Fresh off of a flight to Lake Tahoe & excited to support a friend, I had no idea what he had in store for me on September 8th, 2023. It was both of our first times visiting Lake Tahoe & when Tyler told me that we had an hour or so to check out the sights before meeting up with our friends, I all about it. He took me to Sand Harbor beach to this area that had these beautiful, big boulders & just began climbing over, under & every which-way to “get to the water,” leaving me behind. Little did I know, he was getting the camera & mic set up. As soon as I reached him, he fixed me up to “take pictures” & as soon as I was ready, I turned to him to see a mic on his shirt and him grabbing both my hands. At that moment I knew what was going to happen next. He started his sweet speech (I started crying), he proposed & I said yes!
